So what’s been happening?
In the North Core fitting out of the washrooms is complete to level 36. Final finishing in the lift lobbies continues and mechanical and electrical plant room commissioning is in progress.
The lower levels of the building create unprecedented public space with a seven-storey galleria area that will be complete with shops, exhibition space, soft landscaping and trees – a rare oasis within the dense urban character of the City of London.
Landscaping of this area has begun, with the paving stones on the ground floor in progress. The lifts are in, and fit out of the reception areas on level 1 and 2 continues. The main canopy at the front of the building is now installed.
The main focus for the Leadenhall team over the next month will be progressing the fit out stage of the project now all of the external steelwork and the majority of the glazing is complete.
The team will continue installing the lifts and finishing the lift lobbies. Washroom fit out will be a priority throughout the building along with completion of the remaining cladding. And finally the team will be working to finish the main galleria.
The main power will soon be turned on and the hoists on the east side will be removed to allow for areas to be completed.
